What does a GenOn Ministries Partner Church look like?
In 2015, 40 churches in the US and Canada committed to:
- An active LOGOS ministry
- A donation to GenOn Ministries of at least $10
- Expressing and living out a commitment to the partnership
These 40 churches represent:
11 different denominations (and non-denominational)
Worship attendance well under 100 and over 1,000
Urban, small town, rural, and suburban
Donations from $100 to $6,000
Long time LOGOS programs and start-ups
We received our most recent Partnership commitment from a very small church in Pennsylvania with 10 children participating in LOGOS. Their generosity touched us greatly as truly sacrificial giving. Churches donate what they are able and when they are able. Some take up special collections, others donate an amount per LOGOS participant and still others give from the LOGOS, Christian Education, or Mission budget. Some send a check with their form and others pledge for a future date with a specific amount or a “to be decided” amount.
GenOn Partner churches receive no tangible benefits from the commitment like discounts on curriculum or free LOGOS Encounter training seats. We hope the intangible benefits are abundant! GenOn benefits from the commitment of churches to do LOGOS well and to tell others about the ministry.
As a non-profit organization, the donations help us fulfill our mission to bring intergenerational ministry resources to churches and families throughout North America—which helps church staff, volunteers, parents and grandparents nurture a life-giving relationship with God through Jesus Christ for people of all ages.
We post our Partner Churches on our website which is helpful for other churches considering LOGOS as well as for people moving to a new town and seeking a LOGOS church (we get those calls!). Is your church on the list yet? It’s not too late to get added for 2015! Here are more details. We would love to see our Partner list grow.
