Introducing GenOn's Community Outreach Coordinator

Posted by Liz Perraud at

GenOn Ministries is pleased to introduce Rev. Kelly Kaufman as our new Community Outreach Coordinator! You will be hearing more from Kelly soon and about how she will be supporting our churches and our ministry. For now, we’d like you to meet her.

Fifteen years ago Kelly Kaufman began her first call as a Director of Christian Education in Waynesboro, VA.  Their required continuing education for her first year was to attend LOGOS training and then she was tasked with revitalizing the churches’ LOGOS program.  LOGOS training shaped her thinking and theology as a young Christian Educator and continues to inform her understanding of ministry fifteen years later.

She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College. Following graduation, she served two churches in Virginia as a Director of Christian Education.  Feeling a call to pursue ordination she attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and graduated in 2007.

Ordained in 2008, she has served two churches in Virginia as the Associate Pastor of Christian Education at a very large church and Solo Pastor at a very small church.  Most recently Kelly was the Interim Director of Programs at Massanetta Springs Camp and Conference Center.

Throughout her ministry she has spoken at youth retreats, training events, and many Presbyterian Women gatherings.  Her favorite call is taking care of her family.  Kelly and her husband Evan reside in Charlottesville, VA and they have one son, Calvin (not named for John Calvin, but they love the humor of it!!).

Kelly loves to volunteer at her local church, teaching Bible and making desserts for their weekly Kids Connection program (what they call their LOGOS program) and helping out with Children’s Church on Sunday mornings.  She loves that Calvin has come to love Wednesday nights as much as she does.  Kelly is excited about the opportunity to join the GenOn team and work with churches who are seeking help to start their own programs and working with our partner churches as we continue to support the vital ministry that GenOn provides.
