Suzanne Hall Stout, First Christian Church, Des Moines, Iowa Giving ourselves to others is a vital part of living out our Christian faith. At First Christian Church we strive to be the hands and feet and heart of Jesus with our neighbors -- both near and far.   Our GenOn LOGOS ministry (grades K-12) puts this understanding into action. White clapboard houses and red barns were everywhere--not that we noticed except on the trip to and from the Hartford airport. We were more focused on soaking up the conversation from the 100 folks interested in and passionate about intergenerational faith formation. The leaves may have been turning outside but we were turning to one another inside to listen, learn, process, brainstorm, and vision about the impact on the church of intentionally bringing generations together.   Long time lifelong faith pioneer John Roberto (of Lifelong Faith Associates) brought together a crackerjack Resource Team (Jim Merhaut, Holly Allen, and Kathie Amidei)...

GenOn Youth Summit Experience

One church's experience with the recent GenOn Youth Summit:   Heading home from the GenOn Youth Summit on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia, I asked the youth what they liked about the week:   "The music" "Meeting new people from different churches" "Spending time with other teenagers" "Music, singing, the dance" "Men's Vespers" "3 hour worship Friday night" "Mission day" "The talent show" "Women's Vespers" "Activities each day (soccer especially)" "Great to see old friends from last year and to meet new friends" "It was fun" "It was good"   Not one said "I don't know"...
