        Unit 1: God’s Faithful Leaders 

        4 sessions. Many women in the Bible served God faithfully through leadership, creativity, and resourcefulness. Three women were essential to saving baby Moses from the Pharaoh. Deborah is recognized as a judge, a prophet, and a warrior leader for God’s people. Eudoia and Syntyche were loyal coworkers of Paul and the early church in Philippi. Mary Magdalene was the first person to deliver the Good News of Jesus’ resurrection to the disciples, and amidst all the hurry and excitement, she got left behind to greet the risen Lord in person. In these sessions, participants explores these women who may be unfamiliar, but who are faithful friends of God. Sessions:

        1. Saving Baby Moses (Exodus 2:1-10)
        2. Deborah, the Judge (Judges 4:1-10, 12-16; 5:1-3)
        3. Two Philippian Women (Philippians 4:1-6)
        4. Mary Magdalene (John 20:1-18)

        Unit 2: Stories from Genesis
        4 sessions. Genesis is the first book in the Jewish Torah, and describes how we came to be connected to God’s design for the world and the world in which we live. The universal truths of humanity and human thought and behavior are worked out through stories of God’s people as they lived and interacted. Stories from Genesis explores the experiences of Adam and Eve, God’s destruction of all but Noah’s family, the origin of different languages, and the call of Abraham. Sessions:

        1. Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:1-13, 20-24)
        2. Noah and the Covenant (Genesis 6:11-14, 17-22; 7:6-12; 8:13-19; 9:12-17)
        3. Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9)
        4. Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 17:1-8, 15-16)

          Unit 3: Eating with God
          4 sessions. Eating with God surveys four stories in the Old and New Testaments where food plays a central part in God’s story.  Participants explore the Passover meal and God’s covenant with the Israelites, humble generosity in the story of the great banquet, Jesus’ new meaning of Passover that he shared at the Last Supper, and confusion and recognition in the story of the walk to Emmaus. Sessions:

          1. Passover (Exodus 12:21-27)
          2. The Great Banquet (Luke 14:15-24)
          3. The Last Supper (Luke 22:1-20)
          4. Emmaus (Luke 24:13-32)
