Virtual LIFT in Community Walk with Jesus through Holy Week

Virtual LIFT (Living in Faith Together) Year 3 Fall, Winter and Spring sets are written for churches gathering virtually. Virtual LIFT in Community is designed to be used in a home setting using a video conferencing platform to connect LIFT Homes with each other and the LIFT leader.

(Sunday LIFT is designed to be held in a church with participants sitting around tables. Find Sunday LIFT here.)

Walk with Jesus through Holy Week is unit 1 of the Spring set. In this unit, participants explore Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Jesus' arrest in the garden, Good Friday and Easter. During all these events, we remember that God was still in charge. God loves us enough to forgive us and that God's love is so powerful, it overwhelms death with resurrection. God’s love cannot be defeated.

Flexible, easy to lead sessions are perfect for use during Holy Week in place of or in addition to in-person worship.

Sessions in this unit:

  • Session 1: Palm Sunday – Matthew 21:1-11
  • Session 2: Maundy Thursday – Matthew 26:17-30
  • Session 3: The Arrest in the Garden – Matthew 26:36-55
  • Session 4: Good Friday and Easter – Matthew 27:1-2, 33-40, 50-51, 57-61, 28:1-10

Introduction includes all the details for making Virtual LIFT in Community a success. Resource is fully downloadable.
