Virtual LIFT in Community God Calls the People Into Hope

Virtual LIFT (Living in Faith Together) Year 3 Fall and Winter sets are written for churches gathering virtually. Virtual LIFT in Community is designed to be used in a home setting using a video conferencing platform to connect LIFT Homes with each other and the LIFT leader.

(Sunday LIFT is designed to be held in a church with participants sitting around tables. Find Sunday LIFT here.)

God Calls the People Into Hope is unit 3 of the fall set. Jesus offered hope by showing how to serve others—often unexpected others. Servanthood is lived out in peacemaking, feeding, clothing, sheltering, healing, visiting, and loving others. In this unit, LIFT Homes explore how Jesus fulfills God’s promise of hope in both the Old Testament and New Testament.

Sessions in this unit:

  • Session 1: Jesus the Servant, Isaiah 42:1-4, Matthew 12:9-21
  • Session 2: Jesus the Messiah, Micah 5:2-5a, John 4:5-15, 25-30, 39-42
  • Session 3: Jesus the Peacemaker, Micah 4:1-8, John 13:31-35
  • Session 4: What’s in a Name?, Daniel 7:13-14, Matthew 24:31-46
