Virtual LIFT in Community God's Grace, Our Hope

Virtual LIFT (Living in Faith Together) Year 3 Fall, Winter and Spring sets are written for churches gathering virtually. Virtual LIFT in Community is designed to be used in a home setting using a video conferencing platform to connect LIFT Homes with each other and the LIFT leader.

(LIFT is designed to be held in a church with participants sitting around tables. Find LIFT here.)

God's Grace, Our Hope is unit 2 of the Spring set. In this unit, participants learn about two very familiar teachings of Jesus. The parable of the sower and the story of the separation of the sheep from the goats are, at first, easy to understand. Upon closer look, each is filled with deep and revealing meaning for “those who have ears to hear.” Each story is explored independently in two sessions, which provides extra time to discover the messages in the details. Through Jesus’ own explanations, prayer and listening to God’s voice, our lives are enriched with Jesus’ message of hope and comfort. The aim is not to uncover the one meaning of the text, but rather to discover what the text says to each person who hears it.

Flexible, easy to lead sessions.

Sessions in this unit:

  • Session 1: The Gift of Hope - Matthew 13:1-9
  • Session 2: Hope Bears Fruit - Matthew 13:1-9
  • Session 3: The Gift of God's Family - Matthew 25:31-46
  • Session 4: Serving Jesus by Serving Others - Matthew 25:31-46
