In each edition of IG Mix, we ask a ministry leader two questions:
What keeps you up at night?
If I’m up at night, it’s because I’m working on tasks pertinent to my team having what they need to move our mission forward. As the Director of an early-stage institute, I constantly think about how we need to pivot to improve our systems and processes. Efficient systems and processes mean that 1) we can deliver the best product and service experience, and 2) my team and executive council have the role clarity needed to serve our constituents better and grow a sustainable ministry.
What gets you up in the morning?
My day's hallmark is my favorite cup of tea or coffee while sitting on the balcony in the early morning. That’s my time to be still, sit with God, and give Him my concerns. As a ministry executive, I strive to be more than I do. Spending time in prayer and journaling helps me to discern the direction we are headed, the relationships we need, and the needs of my team. In addition, as a Millennial leader, it is critical to reflect on the best ways to build trust and effective communication with the generations ahead of me as I advocate for more innovative ways to reach and develop Gen Z.
