LIFT Year 1 Fall

Unit 1: Seed to Harvest
4 sessions. Using the analogies of seeds and fruit from Scripture, participants will be pushed to look at how they are growing in their own faith and how that growth and connection to Christ helps all to bear good fruit. Sessions:

  1. A Seed Story (Matthew 13:1-9)
  2. Light of the World (Matthew 5:13-16)
  3. They Will Be Like Trees (Jeremiah 17:5-8)
  4. I Am the Vine (John 15:1-8)

            Unit 2: Gather Together Family and Friends
            4 sessions. Focuses on the importance of relationships. Participants will explore their own family stories and have an opportunity to invite friends to join with them. Participants practice forgiveness and acceptance of each other and push themselves to go out into the world and grow the church family circle wider. Sessions:

            1. Family Stories (Colossians 1:11-20)
            2. The Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
            3. Family Forgiveness (Genesis 45:1-15)
            4. Serving Others, Growing the Family (Mark 10:35-45)

              Unit 3: Feasting with Jesus
              4 sessions. Explores Scripture through stories of food. Both Old and New Testament Scriptures focus on what God provides for and how to share those provisions with those out in the world. Everything comes together in the last session as participants gather around the table and offer gratitude to God. Sessions:

              1. Breakfast with Jesus (1 John 21:1-15)
              2. Jesus Feeds Us What We Need (Matthew 14:13-20)
              3. Sharing the Joy of Jesus (Philippians 4:1-9)
              4. Protect Me (Psalm 16)
