I care deeply about the ways that the church supports early childhood development. These first years matter so much in developing healthy brains and healthy bodies.  I see young children facing an array of stressors, from inadequate nutrition to unsafe housing to caregivers who are in the habit of being only partially present because of the complex demands on their time and attention.

The "Why" Rather Than the "How" of LOGOS

Last fall, we decided that God was calling us to start a children’s ministry at our church, Laramie First United Methodist Church (UMC).  The need for something to strengthen our youth’s connection with Christ, foster relationships between the congregation and youth, and instill a greater sense of purpose in our church led us to LOGOS.  A few of us had previous experience with LOGOS ministries and knew firsthand how transformational this would be for UMC.

One of the greatest gifts we give one other is to be fully present. To look into someone’s eyes, ask how they are doing, and listen to their answer is ministry at its simplest and yet most profound. I imagine that's exactly how Christ engaged with everyone he encountered.
