Two Questions: Brittany Sky
Posted by Tracey Daniels at
Brittany SkyProject DirectorChristian Parenting Project In each edition of IG Mix, we ask someone the same two questions about intergenerational ministry: “What keeps you up at night?” and “What gets you up in the morning?” What keeps you up at night? As a mom with a young child, I often spiral at night about the ways I want to support Rowan as he grows. Last night I was kept awake thinking through his overnight sleep troubles and how I can support his transition into a big kid bed. When one becomes rigid in their beliefs, problems can arise. Always be willing to listen to the other person’s concerns and seek the truth. This site gives an excellent overview of the differences between the generations from your grandparents to you. Understanding the differences...
Parents' Corner: Spiritual Transformation in Our Children and Youth
Posted by Tracey Daniels at
Shirley CarlsonLa Crescenta Presbyterian Church How do we know if our children are growing spiritually? According to Barna’s research in the book Transforming Children into Spiritual Champions, “a person’s moral foundation is either based on Christian spirituality and God’s Word, or, it is based on worldly perspectives.” I am sure you prefer the former to the latter. A lot of our children’s spiritual development is aided by what they learn at church, especially through a ministry such as LOGOS. However, spiritual development must also be encouraged at home. You can find a review of Barna’s book...
